Premise: Batman is tracking a predator stalking the streets of Gotham-- but may run into more than he bargained for.

His blood was pumping like a jackhammer in his ears as he ran across the rooftop, he stepped onto the ledge and flung his body out into the open air with his muscles aching in fervent protest. His body was straining because he had already allowed this chase to go on for far too long, longer than any normal human could endure and that in itself was a huge problem.
The cape snapped open behind him as it caught the air like a pair of large leather wings slowing his descent just enough so it wouldn't kill him or break anything as long as he landed right. He slammed feet first onto the loose stoned surface of the next building, bending his knees and rolling forward with the momentum as he sprung back up onto his legs and kept moving.
Ahead of him, he could see his quarry, wrapped in a tattered black fabric to hide its gruesome visage. The target was not human and it was outpacing him with no signs of fatigue-- Batman was going to lose it if he didn't come up with something quick. They were too high up for the car, or he could call in the Batwing for air support... but that wouldn't work, by the time he got into the cockpit the creature would be gone.
Batman reached into his utility belt and readied a Batarang, throwing the weapon as he leaped off the edge of another building the sleek metal blade curved through the air and landed on the ground just in front of the creature-- with a loud pop the Batarang exploded with a burst of a pyrotechnic metal-oxidant mix of magnesium and potassium nitrate.
The sudden thunderflash of light was enough to temporarily slow down the creature for Batman to catch up... he reached out and grabbed the fabric it was hiding under to reveal the emerald and gold Apokolyptian armor of a Parademon.
The parademon roared defiantly at Batman and spread its wings-- taking to the sky in an effort to escape him. Bruce quickly leaped up onto a nearby water tower climbing it as quickly as he could before the Parademon could get away.
Once again throwing himself into the air Batman reached for his grapple gun and fired it at the creature, just barely snagging its leg with the hook as the Parademon banked hard to the left taking Batman with him.
Batman's cape caught the wind as it was designed to, giving him a higher altitude and limited control over his direction as he shifted his weight to avoid slamming into the sides of buildings as the creature weaved through narrow alleyways and power cables.
Batman hit the retraction button on the grapple and it started reeling him closer to the fleeing Parademon, it was time to end the chase once and for all. As soon as he was close enough he let go of the Grapnel Gun and wrapped his arm around the Parademons neck attempting a sleeping hold. The creature snarled and tried to bite at him as it flipped over and started flying more erratically.
Batman was sure this wasn't a scout... more likely a leftover trooper from a previous invasion by Apocalypse. The Parademon armies had been deployed all over the world and not all of them made it through the Boom Tubes back home when the retreat was sounded-- so that made the plan simple. Subdue the alien and figure out what to do with it-- Perhaps Iron Heights or STAR Labs had facilities that could be used to imprison it indefinitely.
Suddenly the creature changed direction and flew straight up into the sky, overhead Batman could see the docks near Gotham Harbor below and one of the bombed-out buildings there that had previously been used as hideouts for local gangs. The creature stopped resisting and fell forward, angling directly for the broken building on the water below.
Batman allowed the Parademon to take the brunt of the force as they crashed through the roof, hiding his head between the beast's shoulders. Just before impact with the concrete floor batman placed both his feet on the lower back of the Parademon and pushed himself off as the monster face planted into the ground.
Batman landed solidly a few paces behind the new crater in the middle of the floor. He dropped to his knees as he touched down and reached for more weapons on his belt, his motions hidden by the cape slowly drifting down around his shoulders. He looked like a shadow slowly rising off the ground as he stood prepared for whatever happened next.
Batman heard a noise that suddenly attracted his attention, he looked around surveying the area quickly-- there were broken wooden creates all around him stacked to the ceiling in varying width and height. From behind one of the crates, he saw a pair of burning yellows eyes peek out at him, and then another set... and then another. In all, he counted over a dozen different sets of eyes sizing him up as the sounds of growling and gnashing teeth echoed off the walls all around him.
"Batman to Watchtower." He spoke calmly as he pressed the button on the side of his cowl that patched him in to League communications. "I have an active infestation event in Gotham, requesting any available personnel for back-up."
